A Part Of

In solitude, I have discovered I am a part of something great, greater than myself. I have discovered I am a part of nature. I can not remove myself from nature. Really, no one can. We all have the opportunity to define our relationship with nature.

In solitude, I invite nature in. Sleeping with my doors open to the terrace, I clear my mind listening to the surf. The nightly lightning show wakes me and the thunder that follows is both shocking and awesome. The relentless rain of the night contributes to the heaviness of the air. The humidity contains me while the boundary of my skin melts in the heat.

In solitude, I am amenable to losing myself in nature, only to discover myself.

In solitude, I do not evaluate my relationship with the people, places, or things in my life. I am present with life.

In solitude, I graciously acknowledge my place in nature.

You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe, an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately, you are not a person, but a focal point where the universe is becoming conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle.
