Hello! I am Wren Reign.

The idea of creating a blog to share my writing and musings was first discussed years ago with a friend while we enjoyed sharing a bottle of wine. Since then the focus of this site changed monthly. Weekly. And it has been years. The artist side of me says, well, okay, this is the creative process, trust the process. The side of me that responds to the rules, the way things are supposed to be done, almost gave up. Almost. 

Questioning the norm has been an adventure and has helped me discover a lifestyle fueled by my desire to grow and passion for the things I love. Learning to live an inspired life is my commitment to myself. I see life through the filters of being a girl, now woman, daughter, sister, wife, mother, student, and teacher. Stripping down to what I call, my true self, required sifting through a lot of shit. Like so many of us, I didn’t recognize the dogma I was expected to believe as being problematic. I wasn’t socialized to question authority or the rules. Identifying my true desires has been quite a project.

Beginning to Reign is a reflection of my experience through my prose, stories, and painting. My family, friends, mentors, and angels have helped. Life’s experiences that have taken me through the eye of the needle, juicy ones that have kicked my ass, have been fertile grounds for growth. So have the joyous ones! I choose joy. I am beginning to reign over my life.
