Wait to be called on. Don’t shout out.

Wait your turn to speak. Don’t interrupt.

Wait for people that are late. Don’t get impatient.

Wait for acknowledgment. Don’t be self-centered.

Wait for conditions to change. Don’t speak your needs.

Wait for them to take care of you. Don’t take care of yourself.

Wait for consensus. Don’t rock the boat.

Wait for traffic to clear, wait for the rain to stop, wait for the crowds to vanish, wait for retirement, wait for circumstances to improve, wait until tomorrow, wait until you have more money in the bank, wait until you buy a house, wait until the kids are grown, wait for everyone’s approval, wait until the wheels fall off.

Don’t pretend you have all the time in the world.

Don’t pretend your happiness doesn’t matter.

Don’t pretend that your life will never end.
